Heights spikers top New Glarus, fall to Waterloo

Kelsi Handel and Wisconsin Heights' girls volleyball team split a pair of matches last week.

They will meet again - perhaps more than once.

And Wisconsin Heights' girls volleyball team is confident things will be different.

The Vanguards hosted Waterloo - the No. 1 ranked team in Division 3 - last Thursday. And while the fifth-rated Vanguards played well, the Pirates got the better of them, 25-22, 25-21, 25-14.

"We were excited to get our first home game under our belt," Heights coach Kala O'Connell said. "The energy was high. The girls played well, it just wasn't enough.
