Village of Mazomanie board meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except in December. The board meets on the first Tuesday of December. All other committees meet on demand.

Food Pantry: The “Christians in Action Food Pantry” is held the Second Tuesday 6-7 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and the following Tuesday from 6 p.m- 7 p.m. The food pantry is held in the Mazomanie Community Building. The Community Pantry serves clients from the Villages of Black Earth, Cross Plains, Mazomanie and the surrounding Townships.

Mazomanie Free Library Hours

Monday through Thursday:

10 a.m. to noon, 2-7 p.m.

Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mazomanie Free Library Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the library. The Friends of the Mazomanie Free Library meet the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., also at the library.

Wildlife Forever ATV Club meets 7 p.m. at Trader’s Bar & Grill, 6174 US 14, Arena, the 2nd Monday of each month.

Walk with a Doc is a walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. While you walk at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to have questions answered by Dr. Janelle Hupp. Come out and bring a friend. Enjoy the scenery as you walk with a doc!

Walkers meet at Wolf Run Trail, at 328 Crescent Street, in Mazomanie, the first, second and third Wednesdays of the month through the summer, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Iron Horse Band’s dates for this summer are the following:

Saturday, October 5, 1 p.m .: Sauk City Historical Society, 309 Polk Street, Sauk City.

Saturday, December 14, 7 p.m .: Iron Horse Christmas Show, Wisconsin Heights High School gymnasium.

The Mazomanie Music Conservancy (MMC) holds ‘Another Friday Night in Downtown Mazomanie’ free concerts throughout the year at 6 p.m. at the Mazomanie Community Building.

Future dates will be Oct. 4, November 1, December 6, January 3, February 7, March 6, April 3, May 1.


Village of Black Earth board meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the municipal building.

Coffee with a Cop is held the second Thursday of each month from 9-11a.m. at the Village of Black Earth Municipal Building.

Heights Unlimited

Black Earth Historical Society meetings

The Black Earth Historical ­Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the former Congregational Church at 1022 Blue Mounds Street.

Black Earth Public Library Hours

Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2-7 p.m.

Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Old Halfway Prairie Schoolhouse Park will be having a fall meeting on Thursday, September 12. It will be at the Black Earth Lanes at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.

It’s time to organize a team for Trivia Night. The event is co-hosted by the Friends of the Black Earth and Mazomanie Libraries. This year’s competition is set for Saturday, October 12 at the Black Earth Fire Station, 711 Blue Mounds Street in Black Earth. The entrance is across the street from the Shoe Box. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the action begins at 7:00 p.m.

Team sign-up forms are available at both the Black Earth and Mazomanie Libraries. Entry fee is $15 per person in advance, $20 at the door. A light meal is included in the cost. Maximum team size is 10. Completed forms and payment can be returned to either the Black Earth or Mazomanie Library.
