Schlimgen, Eagles' spikers have big goals, high hopes

New Sauk Prairie volleyball coach Amy Schlimgen turned around the program at Wisconsin Heights, and is hoping to do the same with the Eagles.

At some point early this season, first-year Sauk Prairie prep girls volleyball coach Amy Schlimgen planned to hand out her customary goal-oriented questionnaires.

No, this isn't advanced algebra. Schlimgen simply is looking for a few individual and team goals for the upcoming season – and she has her players hang them in their lockers as a motivational reminder to boot. It's a strategy she often employed at her previous coaching stop, a 24-year run at Wisconsin Heights where she produced a 618-231 record, 15 conference titles, four state tournament appearances and one state title.
