Come Saturday morning, all roads lead to Mazomanie as cars and trucks of every description roll into Lion's Park for the Mazo Motion Car Show. The event, which opens at 9 a.m., is expected to attract 150+ vehicles, including the show's first feature car – an award-winning 1957 Chevrolet Nomad owned by Mazomanie's own Joe Weibler. Mini drag bike racing will be back for a second rollicking year, as will a special appearance by Dave Best's two nitro-fueled drag racing motorcycles. Also back by popular demand are emcees Capt'n Bob and Arlo, hosts of the popular Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio Show, who will entertain the crowd with their car-savvy humor, commentary, interviews, and music from the 1950s to '70s. Food, beverages and ice cream will be available on the grounds. Show registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. The entry fee is $10 (spectators are free) with all proceeds donated to the Mazomanie Volunteer Fire Department and District One EMS. Official car judging will take place starting at noon, with trophies awarded at 2 p.m. Ballots will also be available for spectators to choose their favorite entries for People's Choice, People's Choice Jeep and Kids' Choice trophies. A door prize drawing will run throughout the day, including gift cards from Rookies, free oil changes from Le Voy's Nut & Bolt Shop and Ballweg Chevrolet Buick, car care products from Weavers and a $300 detailing service from Addictive Shine Mobile Detailing. Also new this year is a post-show car cruise to the first free Witwen Concert of the summer to listen to Reverend Raven and Chain-Smoking Altar Boys. The informal cruise will depart from the Park & Ride Lot at the corner of Hwy. 78 and 14 at 5 p.m. For more information, visit or call 608-345-8210.
