Mark and Annette Geisler honored by Optimists

On June 7, 2019 the Wisconsin Heights/Black Earth Optimist Club was honored to give Mark and Annette Geisler the Optimist Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is given to those who show selfless acts of kindness, are outstanding members of the community and work tirelessly to be there in not only the daily routine but in time of crisis, particularly the August 20, 2018 flood. Mark is the Fire Chief and Director of Public Works in Mazomanie. He has been awarded the Jefferson Award, State Firefighter of the Year Award, a United Way Volunteer Award and has been featured in the May/June 2019 issue of the Wisconsin Fire Journal magazine. Annette Geisler is the Executive Assistant to the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association. She worked tirelessly after the flood spending countless hours coordinating volunteers, food and housing. She was also instrumental in directing people where to go for additional help in this time of crisis.
