The Great Sauk State Trail has a new piece of artwork celebrating the Sauk Prairie's eagle heritage. John Pahlas' metal eagle sculpture is located on the trail, north of the Prairie du Sac bridge, at the top of the path going down to the river. It is visible from water street. Pahlas received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from UW-Oshkosh in 2013. He started doing private commissioned sculptures as a freshman and has been working full-time since he graduated. Pahlas working primarily in steel. River Arts would like to thank the donors for this project, The Bank of Prairie du Sac and the Sauk County UW-Extension Arts & Culture Committee. The Star News had a feature article on Pahlas in January.
