Garrick Hartley, son of Nicholas and Bobbi Jo Hartley, is an "outstanding senior" according to Mary Walz, SPHS math teacher who nominated Garrick. "He made an impression his freshman year and has not looked back. He has been actively involved as a class officer, in Forensics and plays all four years. As a class officer he has been our advocate for class involvement in most any activity planned. He is very outgoing and will always lend a helping hand. He is intuitive in knowing when something needs to be done without asking." Garrick is in the top three of his graduating class and has taken four Advance Placement classes at SPHS. Outside of school, Garrick is a student member of the Sauk Prairie Theatre Guild Board and was instrumental is initiating the Midstage Theatre Troupe, the teen division of SPTG. He has been involved in SPTG teen plays for the past four years and the director of the plays for the past two years while being an assistant director for two years prior. He has also been an actor in several adult plays with the SPTG and is considered an outstanding actor by both SPTG and his SPHS drama director Diane Sullivan. He also works with Nick Dingman at the River Arts Center with lighting, stage direction, sound and set. Garrick plans are to attend UW- Stevens Point and earn a BFA in Theater Design and Tech, one of only 14 accepted into the program this year.
