Heights softball, baseball emilinated

Tayler Kraemer and Wisconsin Heights' girls softball team fell to Horicon in the sectional finals.

Wisconsin Heights' girls' softball team had aspirations of making the state tournament for the first time in school history.

But the Vanguards' dreams came up just short.

Heights reached the WIAA Division 4 sectional final last Thursday, but fell to top-ranked Horicon, 7-1.

The Vanguards had edged Mineral Point, 5-4, in nine innings in the sectional semifinals on May 28.

Heights finished the year 20-5.

In Heights' loss to Horicon, Marshmen pitcher Allison Tillema struck out 13 Vanguards and didn't allow a hit.
