Eagles' tennis team sends three to state

Tarren Nimmow thought his high school tennis season was over after he lost on a third-set tiebreaker at last week's WIAA Division 2 Eau Claire Regis Sectional.

But he received text messages on Friday nearly simultaneously from his coach and father that made him smile.

Nimmow (17-8) lost his quarterfinal match, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6, to Noah Rademacher of Amery at No. 1 singles at the WIAA Division 2 Eau Claire Regis sectional on May 22.

But Nimmow's season didn't end after all. He was selected as a special qualifier to earn a berth in the WIAA individual state tournament, which begins on Thursday...
