Sauk Prairie math athletes compete in mathematical problem solving contest

On April 25th, a contingent of Math Athletes from Sauk Prairie Middle School and Sauk Prairie High School traveled to UW-Oshkosh to compete in a field of over one thousand students at the Mathematical Problem Solving Contest. The teams were coached by Scott Bakken, Middle School Math Teacher, and Stephanie Beglinger, high school math teacher. Sauk Prairie students came away with several awards. Placing third out of 266 middle school teams was the team of Nick Basken, Jackson Breunig, Austin Kaukl, and Austin Pagel. Also, earning the Bronze at the high school level was the team of Isaac Homar, Richard Wolff, Ella Basken, and Luke Larson. Out of the total of 1057 individuals, four Sauk Prairie students received Top Ten Percent Certificates: Nick Basken, Austin Kaukl, Logan Magnuson at the middle school level, and Luke Larson at the high school level.
