Grand Avenue students held their annual penny war the week of April 22-26, 2019. Classrooms were divided in 5 different teams to raise the money for Cycling Without Age Sauk Prairie. Over the 5 day period students raised almost $1100. In the photo below is a picture of the bike that has been purchased for the elderly to get bike rides during their time at the Pines and Maplewood nursing homes. In the photo are students from the winning team along with the bike. Gina Varley, seated on the bike was gracious enough to bring the bike to Grand Avenue for student to see and ask questions regarding where the donations were being donated and how they were being used. As a result of the donations that were raised by Grand Ave., the organization was able to purchase a third bike for the organization. If you would like to support or find out more info regarding the bikes, please go the website: CyclingwithoutageSaukPrairie.
