Wisconsin Warriors play Power Soccer at Heights

The Wisconsin Warriors Power Soccer team played several games at Wisconsin Heights on Saturday. The Warriors are a club that offers power wheelchair users the ability to play soccer. The athletes are primarily from areas around Madison, Wisconsin. The team travels around the Midwest playing in competitive tournaments from September through June. Power Soccer dates back to the 1970's in France. It first appeared in the U.S. in 1988. The Warriors team was started in 1998. Pictured above is Anne Heathcote, a Wisconsin Heights graduate, and Mazomanie resident. A feature article on Heathcote is forthcoming in the Star News.
