Almost Time for Panfish

Soon the inland waters fishing season will open on Saturday, May 5th. The ice from a long winter is finally gone and it is now time to target panfish in shallow water. The panfish (crappie, bluegill) season never closes in Wisconsin and soon it will be one of the best panfish “bites” of the year. Ice anglers had a decent winter on bluegills and crappies, but though the numbers were good, the season was short because of poor ice.
