Sauk Prairie high school student allegedly steals car

A 17-year old Sauk City teen allegedly stole a car on April 3. Sauk Prairie High School resource officer Joel Ludowitz received a tip and found Johnathan Myers, 17, in the car in the school parking lot.

The 1992 Chevrolet New Yorker was parked at a business in town. The keys were in the ashtray. Myers allegedly took the car from the parking lot.

The vehicle was reported stolen on April 3. The next day Ludowitz observed Myers driving the car in the school parking lot.

Mayers was charged with operating without a valid drivers license, and operating a vehicle without owner’s consent.

Residents are reminded to never leave keys in parked cars.
