Lake Wisconsin Crappies Should Be Getting

Lake Wisconsin which is known for its walleye fishing also has a good population of slab-size crappies that can be caught most of the year and especially in the spring. The crappies begin to get active toward the beginning of April

and into May in most years. The “magic” temperature seems to be around 50 degrees to get the crappies getting active for their spawning ritual. This is the best and easiest time of the year of the year because they are in shallow water, active, and getting hungry.
