MAZOMANIE

Village of Mazomanie board meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except in December. The board meets on the first Tuesday of December. All other committees meet on demand.

Food Pantry: The “Christians in Action Food Pantry” is held the Second Tuesday 6-7 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and the following Tuesday from 6 p.m- 7 p.m. The food pantry is held in the Mazomanie Community Building. The Community Pantry serves clients from the Villages of Black Earth, Cross Plains, Mazomanie and the surrounding Townships.

Mazomanie Free Library Hours

Monday through Thursday:

10 a.m. to noon, 2-7 p.m.

Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mazomanie Free Library Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the library. The Friends of the Mazomanie Free Library meet the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., also at the library.

Wildlife Forever ATV Club meets 7 p.m. at Trader’s Bar & Grill, 6174 US 14, Arena, the 2nd Monday of each month.

A Hunter’s education class, sponsored by the Wisconsin River Sportsmen Club will be in March. $10 fee. Please call Marlon Schoenemann 212-0111 for specifics.

A short film, “No roles written,” will be shown at Base Camp Café in Mazomanie April 13 from 6-8 p.m.

The film is about a young woman with disabilities who auditions for a major role despite objections from the director. Runtime is 13 minutes. The film is by Sean Bode.

The 16th annual Arena Community Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 13, at Grandma Mary’s, Highway 14, Arena, in the back yard. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. Come earlier to get pictures with the Easter Bunny and to register and claim a prize.

The Mazomanie Easter Egg hunt and breakfast with the Easter bunny will be held Saturday, April 13, from noon-1 p.m. at Lion’s Park.

The Black Earth fire department will hold a pancake breakfast Sunday, April 14, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. It will be held at the Black Earth fire department.

The Wisconsin Heights School District will be holding Vanguard Vision: Reaching New Heights, one-year progress report on Thursday, April 18, from 5:30-8 p.m. It will be held in the Step Room.

BLACK EARTH

Village of Black Earth board meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

Coffee with a Cop is held the second Thursday of each month from 9-11a.m. at the Village of Black Earth Municipal Building.

Heights Unlimited

Heights Unlimited Community Resource Center distributes food, personal essentials and clothing every Tuesday from 4-6 pm and the second Saturday from 10-11:30 am. Black Earth Historical Society meetings

The Black Earth Historical ­Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the basement of the former Congregational Church at 1022 Blue Mounds Street.

Black Earth Public Library Hours

Monday through Thursday,

10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2-7 p.m .;

Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Black Earth secular meditation class

Thursdays, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., in the meeting room behind the Black Earth Library. If you are curious or have specific questions, please call Michael (608) 767-3955, or Tom (608) 334-4532. Or simply bring your questions to the first class.

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month there is a meeting for flood survivors at the Black Earth Village Hall, at 7.p.m. Counselors will be present. Feel free to come share your story and talk.

The Lodi Area Women’s Connection invites you to a “Seeking Shelter” Brunch on Saturday, April 13th at 9:00 a.m. at Reach Out Lodi Community Center, 601 Clark St., Lodi. The cost is $12.00. Julia Karls, a student at Lodi High School will perform several music selections. Monica Mueller provides a humorous story of finding beauty in brokenness in her message, “From Broken to Whole”.
