Sauk Prairie opens year 2-0

There was no spring trip to Florida to jump-start the 2019 season for Sauk Prairie's baseball team unlike a year ago, when the Eagles took advantage of the warmer weather to open the season with three straight victories.

But that didn't matter to senior Bryant Schaaf, who used his arm and his bat to provide a spark for Sauk Prairie last week.

Schaaf got the Eagles off to a stellar start, tossing a 5-inning complete game with a career-high 10 strikeouts, while also driving in three runs to spark an 11-1 rout of Riverdale in a season-opening non-conference game last Thursday.
