Heights softball thinking big

Kelsie Draeger and Wisconsin Heights' girls softball team is hoping to make a run at the state tournament this season.

For two straight seasons, they've captured regional championships.

Each year, though, their dreams died one step later in the sectional semifinals.

As a new softball season arrives, Wisconsin Heights again has the firepower to produce a memorable campaign. Now, the Vanguards will be aiming for bigger and better in the postseason.

"We are looking for (a trip to the) sectional finals with a chance to make it to state," Heights coach Dennis Wood said of the Vanguards' goals.

There's certainly a terrific chance of making those dreams a reality.
