Spring Turkey Hunting Preparation

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has mailed out the 2019 spring turkey hunting permits to successful hunters who applied before the December 10th deadline. This is the 37th spring that hunters have been to hunt turkeys in Wisconsin. Turkeys were reintroduced into Wisconsin back in January of 1976 after the state traded ruffed grouse to Missouri for the Eastern Wild Turkeys. The state has issued 135,202 permits for this year’s season that runs from April 17 to May 28. The season is divided into six 7-day (Monday through Sunday) time periods....
