Fourth, fifth and sixth graders from Grand Avenue School, Merrimac Community Charter School, and Sauk Prairie Middle School competed in February for the opportunity to participate in the Regional Math 24 Tournament, which was held on March 5 in Reedsburg.  Five sixth grade, 14 fifth grade, and 12 fourth grade students vied for the six coveted spots on each team.  At the Regional Meet, Sauk Prairie students competed against students from eight other districts. The game of Math 24 was invented by Robert Sun in 1988 as a way to teach children the relationship between numbers.  The game consists of cards with wheels of numbers on them.  The goal is to add, subtract, multiply, and divide the numbers (using each only once) to get a total of 24. The cards get progressively more difficult at each grade level.  Pictured are the Sauk Prairie District Team Members: Grade 6: Regional Qualifiers ~ Carmynn Meyer, Reese Grinstead, Elijah Ashley.
