Diabetes Alert Day to be held in late March

According to the CDC, almost 30.3 million people in the United States have diabetes, or 9.4% of the population. While an estimated 23 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately 84.1 million have prediabetes. The estimated total of direct and indirect costs for this disease is 245 billion dollars.

Diabetes Alert Day, sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, is held on the fourth Tuesday in March. It is a one-day “wake up call” asking the American public to take the Diabetes risk test to find out if they are risk for developing type 2 diabetes. This disease is increasing by large n...
