Carley Brickl, an eighth grader and daughter of Jenny and Jesse Brickl, was selected as the February Middle Level Leader by her team L teachers. Lynne Wipperfurth, her science teacher had this to say about Carley on behalf of the team on February 20 at the Optimist meeting, " In school Carley is active in volleyball and basketball and in Spanish. She is also active in her church and with the Feed My Staving Children organization. All of these things are wonderful but the real reason our team choose her is because of the word KIND. She is one of the kindest 8th graders I've ever met. She would help any teacher, student, adult or friend without any hesitation. She is particularly kind to new students by welcoming them to our school, and helping them acclimate to our school community. Lastly, she is friends with all kinds of students, friend groups and can work with anyone." Left to right, SPMS Principal Ted Harter, dad Jesse , Carley, sister Calista, brother Casey, mom Jenny Brickl and science teacher Lynn Wipperfurth all share in smiles after Carley receives the February Optimist Middle Level Leader award on February 20.
