Sauk Prairie's girls eliminated

STOUGHTON — It was a tall task for the 11th-seeded Sauk Prairie girls basketball team to overcome in its WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal game on Feb. 19.

The Eagles dug themselves a huge hole to open the game, missing five of their six field goal attempts and turning the ball over twice in their opening seven possessions.

That allowed sixth-seeded Stoughton to race to a nine-point lead and the Vikings never looked back, cruising to a 66-43 victory over Sauk Prairie. The Eagles ended the season with a 4-18 record.
