Heights girls fall in playoffs

Vanguards lose to Darlington

Ashlee Adler and Wisconsin Heights' girls basketball team lost to Darlington in a regional semifinal last Friday.

They had their hearts set on an upset.

And despite a valiant effort, Wisconsin Heights' girls basketball team came up short.

Host Darlington, the No. 3 seed in its half of the sectional, edged sixth-seeded Wisconsin Heights, 69-60, in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal last Friday. Darlington fell in the regional finals to Mineral Point the following night.

"We played well and had opportunities, but came up short," Heights coach Bill Sullivan said. "The girls fought until the end and should be proud of how they competed."

Heights, which ended the year 6-14, got 16 points from Kelsi Handel...
