Scout Now for Spring Turkeys

Finding turkeys is one of the most important parts of preparing for the spring season, and it’s never too early to start your scouting. There is still snow on the ground here in Wisconsin, but in recent years the snow is usually melting by the end of February. As soon as the snow melts, try to get into the woods as soon as possible.

You can make it easier by using a combination of walking and driving to cover the most ground, working out isolated trails and along ridges to call down into valleys and bowls. The goal now is to try and locate as many turkeys as...
