Small-town “War” to warm your winter reading

When “Casual Vacancy” by J. K. Rowling was published in 2012, there were differing opinions on its quality. Some people loved it for being different from her Harry Potter series, some hated it for the same reason and most opinions fell in between.

I had two questions when starting this book: Would it be worth my time and what did the title mean? The first answer is yes and the second answer is provided at the book’s beginning. In this case it refers to a parish council seat vacated when Barry Fairbrother died.
