Early spring walleye fishing in the Wisconsin River usually begins the last week on February. This is a spring tradition than Wisconsin anglers have cherished for many years. As soon as ice leaves the river edges and water temperatures nudge toward 40 degrees, fishermen begin to flock to the rivers all over southern and central Wisconsin hoping to catch a few “keepers for the pan or a trophy fish over 10 pounds.
