Erpenbach introduces healthcare bill

Democratic Wisconsin State Sen. Jon Erpenbach last week introduced a 23-page, 7,017-word bill that, if passed, would significantly change health insurance coverage in Wisconsin.

The senator said the bill, which is currently seeking sponsors, would prohibit insurance companies from discriminating based on a person’s pre-existing condition. It would also prohibit lifetime and annual limits, and it would require health insurance policies to cover “essential” health benefits specified by Department of Health Services (DHS) with limits on cost sharing.
