Being the editor of a small weekly newspaper can be a lonely job. There is a full-time staff of one-me. My wonderful reporters submit their articles, but aside from e-mails and the occasional phone call, our communication is limited. I work from home but make a conscious effort to stop by the News Publishing office in Black Earth once a week. When I'm there, I spend a few hours touching base with the many people that make the papers possible. As for the other editors in neighboring papers, we e-mail, and are slowly but surely learning to use Slack.
