Town of Vermont discussses possible solutions to Tyrol Basin traffic

Dane County’s traffic study equipment, such as electronic speed boards and road tube sensors, have been shelved for the winter months, which means the Town of Vermont may not get an accurate count of the increases in local traffic traveling to Tyrol Basin.

Town chair Karen Carlock recently contacted Dane County to request a traffic study on North Road and Bohn Road, the two primary routes leading to the ski hill.

“They don’t want to put the strips down in the cold,” Carlock said, speaking at the January town board meeting, “so we haven’t been able to take any of those steps.”...
