Several of the Monday Morning Mazomanie Muddlers visited the Capitol on Monday, December 10, to talk with Sondy Pope about State and local issues that are of critical importance to them. The visit included a short guided tour of the Capitol. The Muddlers meet weekly and are actively engaged in researching current policy issues and working to bring about progressive change at both the State and national levels. Some of the issue discussed included: advocating for fair elections, the recent lame duck session bill, perceived effectiveness of different types of communication with legislative representatives, increased funding for public, changes in leadership at the DNR and increased protection for natural resources, and encouraging local newspapers to consider the posting of legislator's listening sessions as public service announcements.
