Heights girls fall

December 6, 2018

Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team dropped its season opener, falling to Lakeside Lutheran, 58-34, last Thursday.

Ashlee Adler and Miranda Keith led the Vanguards with eight points each. Natalie Hering added six and Kelsi Handel scored five.

“I thought we played hard, but with foul trouble we had to sit a couple of starters,” Heights coach Bill Sullivan said. “Some of the underclassmen got their first varsity experience and played well.”

The game was tied, 12-12, midway through the first half. But Lakeside closed the half on a 19-8 run and grabbed a 31-20 lead at halftime.
