Coming close won’t cut it anymore if Sauk Prairie coach Amber Fiene has her way.

Sauk Prairie dug itself a 22-point hole in the first half of its Badger North Conference prep girls’ basketball opener last week before mounting a strong second-half rally.

But visiting Waunakee held on to defeat Sauk Prairie 69-61 in the Eagles’ home-opener on Nov. 20.
