Heights girls basketball team hopes for big year

Wisconsin Heights' Ashlee Adler figures to be one of the top players in the Capitol Conference this season.

Expectations won't be great - outside the building that is.

Inside Wisconsin Heights High School, the Vanguards' girls' basketball team believes it can have a strong season.

The Vanguards went 9-15 a year ago and 3-7 in the Southern Capitol Conference. But Heights brings back a lot of experience and is optimistic it can rebound this winter.

"We improved as the season went on and improved in a lot of areas," Heights second-year coach Bill Sullivan said. "We lost an all-conference player prior to the season due to injury and I thought the kids stepped up and played well."
