Wisconsin Heights passes budget

Wisconsin Heights School District passed its 2018-19 budget at its annual meeting Monday, October 27. The mill rate will be dropping for the third consecutive year, down to $11.12 per $100,000 of value. At the board meeting, business official Cherryl Knowles summarized the budget.

Fund 10 expenses, or general expenses, will total $11.3 million. $6.4 million will go towards salaries and benefits. Supplies total $2.5 million, with $610,000 going towards transportation and $298,000 going to utilities. Buildings and grounds will total $470,000, with $807,000 going to capital projects. $198,000...
