Black Earth Library turning 110

The Black Earth Public Library will celebrate its 110th anniversary at a day long tea party on Thursday, November 1, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.. There will be cake and snacks and photo albums to reminisce. Special readings and events will take place throughout the day. Children from the Black Earth Elementary School will enjoy fun stories with special guests at 10:00 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:15 p.m., and 1:45 p.m.. For adults, join us at 6:00 p.m., to hear a few words about libraries by our Friends of the Black Earth Public Library, Pat Mommaerts. And at 6:30 p.m., Tim Nelson (the son of Margaret Nelson, BEPL library director for 25 years, and former resident, and current Madison Public Library board member) will reminisce about the old days in the old library.
