Highway 12 bridge work in 2019-20

October 11, 2018

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is developing plans for a proposed project on US 12 over the Wisconsin River in the village of Sauk City. The project will repair the expansion joints on the existing US 12 bridge and apply a thin polymer overlay to the bridge driving surface. Project construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2019, requiring closure of one lane in each direction lasting approximately 6-8 weeks. In the Spring of 2020 the overlay will require closure of one lane in each direction lasting 2-3 weeks. An alternate route will be signed during construction.

Prior to construction WisDOT will schedule a public meeting to provide information and gather comments about the project. Project information can be found under Projects and Studies at wisconsindot.gov. Questions regarding the project may be directed to WisDOT Project Manager Greg Brecka at (608) 516-6524 or Gregory.Brecka@dot.wi.gov.
