Meeting for cleanup for Indian Lake

There will be a meeting at the Berry town hall on July 26th, 7 p.m., regarding a common carp and black bullhead removal treatment in Indian Lake. The treatment is expected to take place in mid-September. The meeting concerns the fishery only.

Due to a recent explosion in the common carp and black bullhead population, there has been a game fish die off. A partnership with Dane County and Wisconsin DNR has resulted in a multi-year restoration project.

“We’re back to square one [due to the die off]”, explained Dan Oele, DNR fish biologist. “We encourage everyone to attend.”
