Historic Hahn House open for the summer

The Sauk City Historic Preservation Committee has opened the Hahn House Museum to the public for the summer. It will be open every Wednesday from 4-7p.m.

Built in 1857, the house increased the value of the property from $30 to $1,500. Unusual for its time, the house had two entrances, a back and front. Until the channel of the Wisconsin River shifted, the river was at the year entrance. A Germanic wall oven takes up the center of the house. The stone exterior is a true brick wall, two bricks deep.
