Riverway board to meet at Rhinelander Cabin in Mazomanie

The Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board will conduct a regular monthly business meeting at the Rhinelander Cabin located on the Riverway’s Black Hawk Unit in the Town of Mazomanie, Dane County, on Thursday, June 8, 2017. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. The Rhinelander Cabin is located between Sauk City and Mazomanie and is accessible from STH 78 via Wachter Road.

The guest speaker for the meeting will be Pete Jopke, Water Resources Planner with the Dane County Land and Water Resources Department. Jopke will give a presentation entitled “Innovative Resource Management in Dane County.” He will discuss initiatives Dane County is using to reduce nutrient loading to surface waters and efforts to combat invasive species as well as programs to develop self-sustaining forestry in county parks and woodlands.

The board will hold election of officers for the next fiscal year and will hear committee reports. A portion of the meeting will be reserved for public comment, and as always, the public is cordially invited to attend.
