Sliding into a new season

The giant slippery slop slide is one of the newest additions to Enchanted Valley Acres, a pick-your-own pumpkin farm in Cross Plains offering a wide variety of fall family activities. Above, Michael Nie enjoys a thrilling ride down the slide with his nephew Luke Athanas on a sunny autumn day.

There is a farm within the scenic hills of Cross Plains where families can go to pick pumpkins from the patch and take part in fall festivities. Enchanted Valley Acres, now open for the season on weekends until October 31, is a place where a family could spend hours enjoying the colorful season in a country setting.

Chris and Angela Kirsch of Middleton own the farm with Wade and Heather Comstock of Black River Falls. The two couples bought the farm in 2011 and started offering fall family activities last year.
