Former VFW president given award for service


Pictured above, on September 18, Kevin Krohn, the present Post Commander of the Sauk Prairie Veterans of Foreign Wars Lachmund-Cramer Post 7694, presents a Past Post Commander Certificate of Appreciation to member Roy Gag. The Navy veteran was the Post Commander in 1964, 57 years ago. Mr. Gag remains an active member. In the photographs in the background: on the left is a picture of Navy Ensign Edward Lachmund and to the right, Army Private James Cramer, the namesakes of Post 7694, and the First World War II veterans of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac respectively, to lose their lives in combat.
