Maxine J. Hambrecht

Maxine J. Hambrecht, age 95, of Sauk City passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie.  She was born in Bear Creek Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin on June 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Adolph and Genevieve (McCarville ) Roessler.  She was united in marriage to Delbert Hambrecht on August 20, 1946 in Sauk City. Maxine was employed by McFarlanes Mfg. for 33 years, retiring in 1984.

Maxine will be remembered as a loving, caring, and generous sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She loved cats and dogs and enjoyed her flowers and gardening and she dearly loved spending time with all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Don) Douglas of Madison; two grandchildren, Bradley (Toni) Douglas of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Jamie (Dan) DeRubeis of Middleton, Wisconsin; three great grandchildren, Ali and Evan DeRubeis and Chaselyn Douglas; a sister, Loretta Dooley; special friend, Debbie Alt; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Delbert,  in 2005; and sisters and brother –in-laws, Mary (John) Flauger, Joan (Rodney) Premo, Mercedes (Hilary) Mack, Donna Faye (Sylvester) Statz, Polly (Russ) Mallon, Collett (Dick) Mabbott, Jim McFarlane, Peter Dooley, Melvin Hambrecht, Eldon Hambrecht and sister-in-law, Agnes Hambrecht.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St. in Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. Burial will follow at the St. Aloysius Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Maxine's name to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, 517 N. Segoe Road, Suite 301, Madison, WI. 53705.

Maxine's family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Maplewood of Sauk Prairie and the Pines Assisted Living, Prairie du Sac for all the compassionate care that was provided to Maxine.
