6th grade students compete in olympics

6th Grade teacher Traci Schutt held an Olympics contest this year to mark the end of the classes study of Ancient Greece. The class was divided into five city-states: Argos, Athens, Corinth, Megara, and Sparta.  Each city-state prepared for the games by deciding on the clothing to wear, cheer to say, and flag to hold. The day of the competition awards are given for clothing, flag, cheer, teamwork and to the winner of the five games: Javelin Toss, Speed Skating Relay, Hula Hoop, Curling, and 3-legged race. The winning city-states were: 4th Hour Winners-Corinth (pictured). Left to Right: Alia Donaldson, Jozie Braund, Morgan Taylor, Maddy Mauch, Ava Andres, Mallory Breunig. 3rd Hour Winners-Athens: Cheyanne Witthoft, Kassie Gavol, Ava Shimpach, Ella Weigel, Ayla Sorg. 5th Hour Winners-Sparta: Braxton Conway, Luz Rodriguez Rea, Detsy Garcia, Nik Stakhovskyy, Kelsey Krayer. 7th Hour Winners-Sparta: Eamon Walsh, Jack Rausch, Anthony Rosario, Andrew King, Christopher Hutson.
