SP Fitness in Sauk City held its grand re-opening and ribbon cutting on Wednesday, May 2nd, a year after the business first opened. "In just one short year business has been so good at my small personal training studio that I had to expand to a larger space", explained owner Rebecca Litscher.

Litscher, a Wausau native, has a graduate degree in physical anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has obtained certifications through the American Exercise Council as a personal trainer, as a nutritional specialist, and is currently finishing her certification as a youth trainer. Litscher was in the Army for 9 years and was deployed to Iraq. She relocated with her husband and children because he grew up in the area.

Having been a personal trainer and fitness manager in the corporate world for 7 years, about a year ago Litscher decided to break away and "put 'personal' back into personal training". "I found ways that worked and ways that didn't, through the years, and I really wanted to make a difference with the people I train, not just collect a paycheck".

Litscher started out in a small rental space on Water Street. Soon, "Business grew, I had a waiting list, and I had no room to expand". She decided to expand into a larger space and hire two additional trainers, Rebecca Schwartz and Hayley Gieske.

SP Fitness offers personal training, partner training, nutritional counseling and small group fitness classes. It has an indoor fitness classroom and an indoor weight room. There is also an outdoor space for bootcamps.

Litscher has several programs for potential customers. There is bootcamp, a physical training program that includes strength and calisthenics. Also offered in a core and conditioning class, combining cardio and abdominal exercise. Body sculpt uses external weights and resistance to help tome the body and lose weight. She also offers parent and baby or tot 6 week camps, focusing on bonding, encouraging healthy habits, and new fitness activities.

Litscher brings a lot of energy and dedication to her business. "It has always been my passion to help people and to make people strong both physically and mentally."

SP Fitness is located at 744 Phillips Boulevard, Sauk City, right around the corner from Piggly Wiggly. More information can be found at
