Looking back: Photographs share local history

Photographs capture fleeting moments in time. They share history and tell stories - more than words could ever describe.

The Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society shares photographs taken in the early 1900s, celebrating local amateur photographers, as part of an exhibit at the Tripp Heritage Museum in downtown Prairie du Sac.

The photographs were found in the historic building that now houses the museum, which used to be the Tripp Memorial Library. The structure was built in 1912 by J.S. Tripp, a local banker, philanthropist and lawyer. The building was used for the library until the 1990s...
