Heights boys split a pair

Carson Hughes and Wisconsin Heights' boys basketball team split two games last week.

Wisconsin Heights' boys basketball team almost certainly won't win the a Southern Capitol Conference title this winter.

But there's still a great deal for the surprising Vanguards to play for.

Heights fell three games behind conference-leading New Glarus last Tuesday after a 92-84 loss. But the Vanguards bounced back three nights later and toppled Belleville, 56-48.

Undefeated New Glarus raced out to a 51-31 halftime lead. Heights chipped awy at the deficit throughout the second half, but never could get over the hump.
